When you’re travelling, every day is full of the new and the exciting. So much so that often you can become desensitized to what you’re seeing.
But then, you find yourself somewhere – in this case, it was boarding a felucca to cross from the east bank of the Nile in Luxor, Egypt, to the west to ride donkeys to the Valley of the Kings – and you think I can’t believe I’m here.
While the pyramids and the sphinx left me underwhelmed, being on the Nile, that famous river that runs through five countries in Africa, was one of those awesome moments where all the hassles of travel (and all the hassles of Egypt!) are totally, totally worth it.
