After finally leaving the Mongolian border at 2am, the sun streaming in the window the cabin woke me at 6. What else to do but eat breakfast? Over 30 hours, I consumed an entire loaf of bread and a considerable amount of Vegemite.

Wow when I think of the Trans Mongolian, that is not what comes to mind. So much more modern than I thought.
Was very comfy – I had an entire compartment to myself!! So I could have woken up every few hours and switched beds, if I felt so inclined
It was definitely very modern – I think my carriage was actually constructed in 2007? At least that's what two Americans in the neighbouring compartment figured out and told me.
Hi Megan! I just caught myself up with your travels, and I must say that I now have wanderlust again!!! It sounds like you are having a blast and seeing so much that I would love to see. Hope you're enjoying the wonderful life of travel. The daily grind of work isn't nearly as much fun!!
