Photo Friday: Sunglasses for shots in Guatemala

July 22, 2011

Meeting a local on a hiking trail with Quetzaltrekkers in Guatemala

Halfway up the climb to 3,060m on my hike with Quetzaltrekkers, we stopped, exhausted, for a break.

I was trekking with Anthony and Elise from Positive World Travel, and before I let Ant take a photo of me, I put my sunglasses on (ever notice that you’ll rarely see me in photos without them? I have blue eyes. They’re sensitive).

A local farmer taking a break nearby noticed and thought it was hilarious. Puedo tomar una photo? I asked him in my poorly accented Spanish.

He nodded, but before he’d let me take the shot, he held out a hand for my sunglasses. Not to keep – but to wear for the photo, just like me.

I’m so glad that you actually get that Blue eyes are sensitive (we totally showed Ant!) 🙂

They are VERY sensitive. It’s a grey day here in Costa Rica and I was still rocking the sunnies…my poor poor blue eyes!
